001 [Thursday May 10th]
Hm. Technology seems advance, can't tell from how many years in advance. Ahead of the current technology available back in the States and maybe elsewhere. The controls look simple enough...
[The voice is small and quiet, pondering as to what to do. Whoeever is speaking is very intrigued by the journal however.]
Okay, if I got this right then-- Aha!
[And then the sound heightens and the video turns on, showing a man looking into the camera with an accomplished, if not slightly awkward, grin. He's already fully dressed and from the look on his face it would be obvious that he's a new feather.]
That was easier than expected. Putting a recording device into a book is a pretty smart idea, I got to say. Can't think of an easier way to get the everyday man interested in picking up a book than to put something like this into it. It can even be useful for something outside of commercial purposes -- you got an entire integrated network on this thing. Really something else. Bravo to the folks who made this, I give you my praise. I'll have to take this back if possible, so sorry if this leaks out.
But, lets get down to business. I'm stuck here and this place sure isn't Kansas. Or New York for that matter. I don't normally go around looking for help, but I'll make a rare exception and let you strangers help me. And no "red scare" business either, because not even Soviets or any of the Axis Powers that matter would go to these lengths. Particularly with the...well, bird wings on my back now.
[He says particularly low. The idea of being a test subject does not sit well on his mind. What if he's stuck with these wings forever?]
If I can get those off that would be great because being a test experiment dumped in the middle of nowhere isn't my idea of a good time. Shouldn't be anyone's.
...Also any place I can get my hands on alcohol? I seem to be without my wallet and no that isn't a convienent excuse. Could probably use a couple of glasses to calm myself down.
