[One never knows what they will find in a book. Much less a history book. While Howard already told himself that he was going to avoid reading anything about himself, not wanting to know his future or feel defined by the accomplishments he only makes years later, he needs to know something for certain. Something that has been in the back of his mind since the first day he came to Luceti. While he tried to not let it bother him and push it away, both advertently and inadvertently, he knows he can't escape it. This is a part of his "destiny" (he barely believes in any destiny of any kind) that is already set in stone. Something physical and tangible that can't be changed.
So when he reads it in the history book - Howard Stark and his wife Maria Stark had one child, Anthony Stark - it isn't so much as a huge revelation, as much as it is something he always knew since coming here. A confirmation that he only looked up to make sure. Something he was just trying to avoid for all these months. But even he knows he can't avoid something as huge as this forever. And all the signs have been there since the first day.
Still he can't help but read the same sentence a few more times before closing the book and slowly trying to lower his quick heartbeat. Then he goes for the journal, opting to write because he's in the library and doesn't need anyone knowing he feel off edge. But he's going to need to filter this from a couple people. In fact, just one couple.]

So question. Have you ever wondered about the future outside of Luceti?
[...] Well actually that isn't the real question. I'm sure we've all thought about that at least once. Let me rephrase: do you think you'll do the same things other people said you'll do?
Like if someone said you were going to hike up a large mountain when you go back, do you really think you'll do that just as they say? Or that you will get back, change your mind for whatever reason, and go about doing something else. That your [...] destiny, I guess is a word for it, is undecided. [Even if he doesn't like how the word destiny sounds. It sounds concrete and unbendable.]
It's a weird question I know. I'm a little tipsy and feeling thoughtful so indulge me in this. [Ok that is actual a lie. He hasn't actually had a drink in the last 48 hours amazingly. He's been too riled up and not wanting to even touch the liquor cabinent. But not like anyone can know that so long as he's writing and not talking. He's not having a single drop until he gets this mess sorted out.]
[And, after that, he'll write up two filters. One for each person he wants to have some words with.]
Filtered to Steve Rogers; 100%
Hey Steve it's Howard. Are you at the apartment? I need to talk with you in person.
[Steve first. Because Steve is an honest guy and Howard knows he wouldn't lie if cornered. He'll arrange to meet with the next person later in the day.]
Filtered to Pepper Potts; 100%
Pepper, can I see you tonight?
[And it has to be tonight. He won't keep putting it off. Steve will be honest, but Pepper is the one who will likely have his answers.]

It's funny how content I was with forgetting everything about Luceti before. Now I don't know if I can accept that.

perma-written on his part
[There was so much he has learned here in three months. Advancements that won't come for decades right in front of him. It feels almost shameful to not remember it all.]

[Aang knows too much about his future. He doesn't think he can change it. He just wants to live through it and appreciate what he'll have, and he can't do that right if he knows. But there are things about Luceti he's still afraid to let go of... the friendships and new memories he's made.]
